Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 lb lump crab meat
  • 1/2 lb lobster meat, cooked and chopped
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine (or vegetable broth)
  • 2 cups seafood or vegetable broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup tomato paste
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Stir in the flour to make a roux and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  • Slowly whisk in the white wine (or vegetable broth) and seafood broth. Stir until smooth.
  • Add the tomato paste, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes to let the flavors meld.
  • Stir in the heavy cream, bringing the bisque back to a gentle simmer.
  • Add the shrimp, crab, and lobster meat. Cook for 5 minutes, until the shrimp is pink and the seafood is heated through.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.

Notes

  • Serve with crusty bread or fresh salad to complement the richness of the bisque.
  • For a non-alcoholic version, swap the white wine with vegetable broth.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the fridge.
  • Freeze for up to 2 months, though the texture may change slightly upon thawing.
